Twelve Asia-Pacific countries are now participating in negotiations over the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement (TPP), that if completed will be the largest Free Trade Agreement in the world. One of the major concerns many groups and elected officials have with the negotiations is their lack of transparency. The parts of the agreement that have been leaked to the public have also been criticised, particularly changes to intellectual property rights and patent law that benefit large corporations rather than consumers.
